A Note from the Director
Well, it started in Spring of 2017 as best I can remember... I was sitting on the patio sometime in April, having an adult beverage as one does, and thinking about a script I'd had in my head for years. Pretty soon I was writing, revising, getting advice from Erin, casting, scheduling and getting help from Spencer (thank the Deity for the both of them), Two years later, March 2019 we made it to the martini shot. (see previous blogs).
Then we had to put it all together.
After fixing some production snafus, mostly sound which is REALLY difficult, (fixed thanks to Spencer) editing began. And ya know, when people are having to pay rent and buy groceries and gas to get them to PAYING JOBS. (I say this with love in my heart for everyone that worked for Walter), well things take time.
Editing involved three people Linda, Erin and Spence with three sets of eyes and three POV's. Files flew through the internet Cloud, computers crashed and were rebuilt, disagreements were voiced, settlements reached. Two elderly dogs died in two separate households (not on account of this, but yet, there were periods of adjustment), gainful employment was lost and gained and then COVID.
Everything went to a standstill.
Never give up, Never surrender.
So today, February 13, the day before Valentine's day, 2024, I can say that WE ARE DAMN WELL ALMOST THERE. Thanks to the continuing efforts and loyalty of Spencer Ortega and Erin Maddox, who put up with my incessant fiddling and obsession with details, we are embarking on a final render of a finished product (after paying attention to 5 final notes and a final review by yours truly). And I swear on the grave of my sainted mother this is the LAST ONE.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that a screening for cast and crew who are still speaking to me will be in Mid to late summer 2024 at a location TBD.
Stay in touch kids. I can honestly say all this time and talent has not been in vain.
